Once the Acquisitions team successfully conducts valuation and bidding on a deal, the Transaction Management completes the transaction. The professional staff members of the Transaction Management department are highly knowledgeable of legal and procedural requirements of asset ownership transfers. The team works closely with external lawyers and scriveners, and performs extensive closing due diligence on investment assets in order to minimize risks to investors. Furthermore, we handle disposition of the asset being managed by GSRJL for the exit, and involve in the important process of the investment activity.
The Operation team is involved in the loan management and debt collection activities focusing on the daily management of money received, reporting to the investors, issuance of invoices, receipts and the certificate of the loan balance, etc. The GSRJL Operation’s team is also dedicated to developing and introducing new systems to streamline the business flows and ensure a cost effective and efficient operation. For example, the team utilizes specialized systems for the centralized management of the important documents such as the contract, the statutory ledgers, etc. and for digitization of the documents for easy search and confirmation to support the asset management activities. The team also uses industry-leading loan servicing and management technology.
Accounting group provides financial and tax reporting and monitors debt compliance on our leveraged portfolios. Focusing primarily on cash management, expense control, and quality and consistency of reporting, Accounting oversees numerous portfolios in a variety of ownership entities.
The responsibility of the Legal and Compliance department is to maintain corporate value and maximize revenue from the legal perspective. In particular, this department strives to observe the global policy of Goldman Sachs to maintain corporate value, conduct risk management to protect corporate reputation, provide educational seminars, and abide by various regulations established for money-lending businesses and protecting private information. The Legal and Compliance department also establishes and operates special purpose companies to effectively manage assets and follows procedures required by various corporate laws. For the objective of maximizing profit, the Legal and Compliance department provides support by giving strategic advice, guiding negotiations, creating and reviewing documentation and hiring the most appropriate external specialists. In addition, this department supervises procedures for litigation, compulsory execution, and bankruptcy, and provides legal consultations on such matters.
GSRJL’s offices are connected by state-of-the art high speed networks to a portfolio of systems that enhance the effectiveness of every part of GSRJL’s operations. The hub of GSRJL’s revolutionary information technology is our proprietary Venture Asset Management System (VAMS). This sophisticated program combines information from all business units and integrates and organizes that information for use by the GSRJL team. The result is more accurate, timely and consistent reporting, allowing asset management to focus on day-to-day value creation. The VAMS system provides on-line access to all asset and portfolio data, and performs actual-to-budget comparisons, cashflow forecasting, return and net present value analysis, and asset/portfolio yield computations.
The Operational Risk Management team conducts internal audit for the properties being managed by GSRJL. The Operational Risk Management team can identify issues intrinsic in the property management through the audit and quicken to solve issue. With this audit, the team can efficiently support each department involving in the asset management work and monitor the business risk which may be arisen in future. The Operational Risk Management team conducts the internal audit for GSRJL itself when necessary.
